The EDAG Smart Industry Summit establishes its importance as a meeting point for leading industrial companies: The EDAG Group, the world's leading engineering service provider for the mobility industry and a technology developer for industrial solutions, invited guests to Fulda on September 25 and 26. The unique in-house exhibition has long been a platform for specialists and managers from a wide range of industries. It also featured themed information stands, expert talks and panel discussions, providing visitors with the chance to find out about and discuss matters beyond their own areas of expertise.

Focus on future-oriented technologies

The EDAG Group specializes in six key industrial portfolio sectors in which work is being carried out on new technological solutions: Smart Product, Smart Factory, Smart People, Public Solutions, Smart Ecosystem and Industrial Metaverse. All of these sectors were presented at the summit – some in collaboration with customers who reported on and discussed the advantages of joint projects which have already been successfully implemented.

One particular highlight at the event was the EDAG Metaverse Dome: a separate exhibition area in which specific use cases depicting the future of production in interactive live demos were presented. In addition to a virtual factory tour carried out using the latest Apple Vision Pro and interactive worker support, visitors were also able to assess the potential of the Industrial Metaverse with the MicBotX robot. This modular robot system, one of a new generation of automation solutions in manufacturing, is controlled in both the real and the virtual worlds, seamlessly performing complex production tasks.

Dirk Keller, Managing Director of EDAG Production Solutions GmbH, sees significant growth opportunities for the company in the new industries: “The future is networked. We advise our customers and implement complex projects for them in the fields of smart factories and production plants. We are familiar with the challenges, legal requirements and, of course, all relevant issues relating to our customers' production, and are able to provide optimum support for the reorganization or optimization of their plants. As an independent engineering service provider, we can look for the best and most efficient solutions on the market so as to meet customer requirements as effectively as possible. In addition, we develop and implement customized solutions in areas for which there is currently no adequate alternative on the market.”

Global technology leaders at the Summit

The EDAG Smart Industry Summit attracts worldwide attention. Eight selected companies each had their own exhibition stands at the summit. “These companies are partners in our business network. Working together adds to our portfolio, enabling us with our our cross-company know-how, expertise and innovative strength to offer the solutions our customers need,” explains Dirk Keller. Along with other leading industrial companies, representatives from technology giants such as Google, NVIDIA and AWS (Amazon Web Service) came to Fulda to attend the summit.

The wide mix of companies attending underscores the importance of the event for the future of industrial technology. Although the EDAG Group's roots are in the automotive sector, the company is focusing increasingly on industries other than mobility.

Award attests to quality

The Best Service Partner award received from Wacker Chemie AG is evidence of how highly the EDAG Group is regarded as an engineering partner. Manfred Maierhofer, Head of IT Procurement at Wacker, officially presented Dirk Keller with the award during the summit. Among the services performed for the chemical company, EDAG Production Solutions GmbH develops and operates software based on a modern web application to monitor and control production.
