SMA SOLAR – POTENTIAL ANALYSIS OF A STATION HOUSE

SMA Solar Technologie AG is a company that specialises in the production of photovoltaic systems technology. The starting point of the project was the increasing cost pressure and higher customer expectations regarding the functionality of a photovoltaic station, which is the technical centre of a large system. 

By redesigning the overall structure, we were able to reduce costs by a total of 24%, which amounts to some 4.5 million euros. We achieved this through: 

• Analysis of the cost drivers in the overall concept 

• Suggestions for improvement for the overall assembly, the basic frame design, control cabinet arrangement, cable laying, processes, assembly and logistics processes 

• Conceptual development of alternative concepts 

• Identification of cost savings
