For Daimler AG at the Düsseldorf production site, the challenge was to convert an assembly line for vans to paperless production using a flexible, high availability MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
In the process we achieved the following goals:
Visualisation of information with the aid of multi-touch devices attached to the conveyor system
Presentation of information depending on the variant and position of the vehicle
Efficient, intuitive control and monitoring of the production process
Presentation of a virtual map of production
Transfer of information and work instructions to mobile terminal devices
Comparison of information with the quality and manufacturing system (MES) in real time
